Antoine Veillerette is a composer and conductor from Rome. He is currently studying for a master’s degree in composition at the Guildhall School of Music studying with Julian Anderson, whilst also taking conducting lessons with Tim Redmond. He previously obtained his BMus in composition at the Guildhall with Julian Anderson where he was awarded the Lord Mayor’s Prize for outstanding academic achievement. He also previously read Politics and International Relations at the University of Warwick, where he held a Music Scholarship and worked closely with various ensembles at the University.

Conducting is at the centre of Antoine’s musical life. At the Guildhall he co-founded and conducts the Silk Street Sinfonietta, which exists to champion new music from within the composition department. The ensemble has worked with composers such as Julian Anderson, Laurence Crane and Matthew King. In previous seasons, he assisted Tim Redmond on Fondazione Haydn’s production of POWDER HER FACE for the opera festival in Bolzano, a multi-national recording project at the FAME’s studio in Skopje, North Macedonia, and a series of shows at the Royal Albert Hall. Last season Antoine made his debut with the Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square in a programme including music by Johnathan Harvey and Johnathan Dove. Antoine has also recently completed a masterclass with Marin Alsop and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland on the Rite of Spring, and the St Andrews Advanced Conducting Masterclass given by Sian Edwards.

As a composer, he has been played throughout the UK by both professional and student ensembles both at the University of Warwick and the Guildhall School of Music. Some highlights include his work for clarinet and electronics A la Claire Fontaine which was premiered by the Heather Roche and orchestral piece Coelacanth which he conducted in a workshop at the Guildhall School of Music. This past summer, Antoine attended Festival Ravel’s composition masterclass with Michael Jarrell and Ramon Lazkano. He has recently become an associate composer on the London Symphony Orchestra’s Soundhub scheme.
